[Problem] To provide a SmCo-based rare earth sintered magnet which has small diameters and a multipolar-magnetized magnet structure and also has both a high coercive force and a high magnetization rate. [Solution] The outer shape of a SmCo-based rare earth sintered magnet, of which the coercive force (HCJ) (kOe) at room temperature (°C) falls within the range represented by the formula : 7.5(kOe) < HCJ ≤ 27 (kOe), is formed into any one shape of a cylindrical shape, a ring-like shape, a columnar shape and a disk-like shape. Subsequently, the resultant SmCo-based rare earth sintered magnet is subjected to multipolar magnetization in such a manner that the requirement represented by the formula : (outer diameter (D)/number of poles (p)) (mm) < (4/π) (mm) (wherein p represents an even number of 4 or greater) can be satisfied, thereby adjust the magnetization rate to 80 (%) or more.
