This sheathing material for lithium batteries is configured from a stacked body obtained by stacking a base material layer, a first adhesive-agent layer, a metal foil layer, a corrosion-inhibiting layer, a second adhesive-agent layer, and a sealant layer, in that order. The corrosion-inhibiting layer includes : a rare-earth-element oxide; and 1-100 parts by mass of phosphoric acid or a phosphoric acid salt per 100 parts by mass of the rare-earth-element oxide. The second adhesive-agent layer comprises an adhesive-agent composition including an acid-modified polyolefin resin and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound. In the infrared absorption spectrum of the second adhesive-agent layer, the ratio (Y/X) of the absorption (Y) due to N-H bending vibration of biuret bonds, to the absorption (X) due to C-H bending vibration of CH3, is not more than 0.3.
