The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a metallic fuel slug with a high rare-earth content and a metallic fuel slug manufactured thereby. Specifically, the method for manufacturing a metallic fuel slug with a high rare-earth content comprises : a step (step 1) of coating an inner surface of a melting crucible and a mold with a ceramic material to form a ceramic layer; a step (step 2) of inserting a metallic fuel material into the melting crucible on which the ceramic layer is coated in the step 1; a step (step 3) of firstly heating the melting crucible into which the metallic fuel material is inserted in the step 2 in a vacuum atmosphere; a step (step 4) of secondly heating the metallic fuel material of the step 3 in an inert gas atmosphere; and a step (step 5) of filling the mold on which the ceramic layer of the step 1 is coated with the heated metallic fuel material of the step 4. The present invention can suppress a reaction between a uranium alloy tank and the mold and between the uranium alloy tank and the melting crucible, manufacture a high purity fuel slug since the metallic fuel material is melted in a vacuum atmosphere and an inert atmosphere sequentially, minimize fuel loss, and stabilize a process. Improved injection casting is performed to prevent the metallic fuel material from entering an intake line after filling the metallic fuel material and remove a repulsive pressure inside the mold.
