PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a beverage which contains a saponins-containing plant extract, having an excellent taste, with the bitter taste caused by the saponins contained being effectively masked, and with the unpleasant taste caused by other raw materials being suppressed.SOLUTION : The beverage includes saponins with a total content [S] in the range of 1.0×10to 3.5×10(wt%), and a ratio of the content of saponins [S} to the content of rare sugars [R] (wt%), i.e. [R]/[S], in the range of 5.7 to 1500.
