PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a novel optical glass having optical characteristics of high refractive index and low dispersion. SOLUTION : An optical glass contains 40-99.9% Nb5++Ta5+ in terms of cation%, and 0.1-60% rare earth element ion (excluding the case of 40% Nb5+ and 60% La3+), and further contains F- as anion.
