PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sheath material for lithium batteries which develops a high lamination strength even with a short aging time, has superior resistance against electrolyte, and arranged so that an insulating property to be ensured even when the cold molding of the material is performed.
SOLUTION : A sheath material 10 for lithium batteries comprises : a laminate including a base material layer 11, a first adhesive layer 12, a metal foil layer 13, a mono-layered or multilayered anticorrosion-processed layer 14, a second adhesive layer 15, and a sealant layer 16 which are laminated in this order. The anticorrosion-processed layer 14 is provided at least on the side of the second adhesive layer, and includes a rare earth element oxide, 1-100 pts.mass of phosphoric acid or phosphate to 100 pts.mass of the rare earth element oxide, and at least one kind of polymer selected from a group of consisting of cationic polymer and anionic polymer; the polymer is included in at least a layer adjoining the second adhesive layer 15. The second adhesive layer 15 includes a compound reactive with the polymer included in the layer adjoining the second adhesive layer 15.
