PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To oscillate the pulse laser light having excellent linear polarization and a high peak power even after wavelength conversion, without employing a low frequency excitation technique, in a Q switch laser device having a YAG laser medium containing a rare earth element. SOLUTION : When bonding a YAG 6 not containing a rare earth element, to the plane of incidence of a laser medium 8, deformation of the plane of incidence is suppressed, thinning of the beam diameter in the laser medium 8 is suppressed even if the repetition frequency of the exciting light 4 is increased, and lowering of power of the laser light 14 is suppressed. Furthermore, when setting the extension direction of the axis of the YAG along the optical axis of the resonance system of the laser light 14, pulse laser light 14 subjected to linear polarization is obtained.
