PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet capable of preventing high-temperature demagnetization while maintaining a high coercive force and a magnetic flux density of a samarium-cobalt magnet. SOLUTION : An R-Co-based permanent magnet 1 (R is at least a kind of element selected from rare earth elements) includes : a magnet body 2; and a surface part 3 formed over the surface of the magnet body 2.
