PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a carbonization apparatus which enables carbonization in a target carbonization ratio with high accuracy.
SOLUTION : A carbonization apparatus comprises a reference gas supply source 115 which adds a reference gas 4 consisting of an inert gas to a carbonization gas 3, a combustor 120 which burns a mixed gas of the carbonization gas 3 and the reference gas 4 and delivers an inspection gas 9, a gas flow meter 132 for measuring the flow rate Fi of the inspection gas 9, a gas concentration measurement instrument 131 which measures a concentration Cc of carbon dioxide and a concentration Cr of the reference gas 4 (inert gas) in the inspection gas 9, and an arithmetic controller 130 which determines a flow rate Fr of the reference gas 4 (rare gas) in the mixed gas from the flow rate Fi and the concentration Cr, determines a generated amount Wc of carbon ingredients in the carbonization gas 3 from the flow rate Fs of the reference gas 4 (rare gas) supplied to the carbonization gas, the above flow rates Fr and Fi, and the concentration Cc, and then determines the carbonization ratio Dt of a carbonization coal 2 from the supply weight Wo of low-grade coal 1, the generated amount Wc and a concentration Cg of carbon ingredients in the low-grade coal 1 and controls a valve 118a to achieve a target carbonization ratio Dr.
