PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing inorganic crystals by using a rare earth element such as Ce and Eu as a dopant element, where the rare earth element can be added in a low valence state. SOLUTION : Provided is a method for producing inorganic crystals comprising a dopant element and a metal element other than the dopant. As the dopant element, there is used at least one rare earth element selected from Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Tm and Yb.
