PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : a material for magnet use which is arranged to have a good magnetic property by utilizing Fe16C2 while using as little rare earth metal as possible; a method for manufacturing such a material for magnet use; and a magnet. SOLUTION : A material 1 for magnet use comprises : magnetic phases 11 including a compound of Fe and C; and non-magnetic phases 12 including, as a matrix, a non-magnetic alloy, surrounding the magnetic phases 11, and located between adjacent magnetic phases 11. The magnetic phases 11 each include a lamella structure of an Fe16C2 layer 11m and an Fe-C layer 11r. In the Fe-C layer 11r, the concentration of C to Fe is between the concentration of Fe16C2 and that of Fe3C by mass%, inclusive. COPYRIGHT : (C)2015, JPO&INPIT
