PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel fine particle powder having an average particle diameter of 100 nm or less and high crystallinity, which is suitable as a raw material of a laminated ceramic capacitor internal electrode, and to provide a method for producing the nickel fine particle powder. SOLUTION : The nickel fine particle powder having an average particle diameter (DSEM) of 100 nm or less and high crystallinity can be obtained by the production method comprising : a first process of adding a rare earth compound to a nickel carbonate-based compound and firing the nickel carbonate-based compound in a temperature range of 600-800°C to obtain a nickel oxide; and a second process of slurrying the nickel oxide, adding a rare earth compound thereto, and subjecting the slurried nickel oxide to reduction firing at 400°C or lower.
