Preparation of alkali earth titanate (I) comprises reaction of alkali earth metal compounds with titanium dioxide particle with a BET surface of more than 50 m 2>/g. Independent claims are also included for : (1) a preparation comprising titanium oxide hydrate particle and a water-soluble alkali earth compound, where the molar ration of titanium and alkali earth metal is 0.95-1.05; (2) (I), which is prepared by the preparation method; (3) preparation of a microelectronic element comprising (I), which is grounded and subsequently pressed to a green body, subsequently sintered; and (4) a microelectronic element comprising (I).
