PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of a magnetic member by which a magnetic member from which a rare-earth magnet improved in magnetic characteristics can be obtained can be manufactured without applying a high magnetic field in a manufacture process, and a magnetic member from which a rare-earth magnet improved in magnetic characteristics can be obtained.
SOLUTION : A manufacturing method of a magnetic member is provided for manufacturing a magnetic member by applying heat treatment to a powder compact formed by pressurizing magnetic powder. The manufacturing method includes : a preparation step of preparing magnetic powder formed from flakes; a molding step of molding a powder compact; and a dehydrogenation step of forming the magnetic member. Regarding the flakes, when a length if an orientation direction of a surface (110) of an iron content is defined as L and thickness of the flake is defined as (t), an average of L/t ranges from 1.5 or more to 5.5 or less. The molding step is implemented in the state where a magnetic field ranging from 0.05T or more to 0.5T or less is applied to the magnetic powder and the flakes are aligned in such a manner that the orientation direction of the surface (110) of the iron content is turned in one direction. The heat treatment in the dehydrogenation step is implemented in the state where a magnetic field of less than 4T is applied to the powder compact.
