PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polymerization catalyst composition enabling high molecular polyisoprene to be efficiently synthesized under industrial conditions without involving excess gelatinization. SOLUTION : There is provided the polymerization catalyst composition containing : a rare metal element compound ((A) component) represented by the general formula (i) : M-(NQ1)(NQ2)(NQ3), where M is at least one kind selected from lanthanoid, scandium and yttrium, NQ1, NQ2 and NQ3 are an amide group and may be same or different, provided that each of the NQ1, NQ2 and NQ3 has a M-N bond; a hydrocarbyl aluminoxane compound ((B) component) having a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and a compound ((C) component) represented by the general formula (X) : YR1aR2bR3c, where Y is a metal selected from the group I, the group II, the group XII and the group XIII in the periodic table, R1 and R2 are a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, R3 is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, provided that R1, R2 and R3 may be each same or different, a is 1 and b and c are 0 when Y is a metal selected from the group I in the periodic table, a and b are 1 and c is 0 when Y is a metal selected from the group II and the group XII in the periodic table, and a, b and c are 1 when Y is a metal selected from the group XIII in the periodic table.
