The present invention is a rare-earth magnet target that comprises neodymium, iron, and boron as essential components and that is characterized by having an average crystal grain size of 10-200 µm. The present invention addresses the problem of providing : a sintered target that makes it possible to form a rare-earth magnet thin film, in particular a neodymium magnet thin film, that has excellent mass production properties, excellent reproducibility, and good magnetic characteristics; and a production method for the sintered target.
