Provided is a low-cost titanium alloy having a corrosion resistance at least equivalent to that of conventional titanium alloys, and an excellent corrosion resistance with regard to an environment containing bromine ions. A titanium alloy used in an environment containing bromine ions, the titanium alloy including, by mass, 0.01 to 0.10% of platinum group elements, 0.001 to less than 0.02% of rare earth elements, and 0 to less than 0.1% of O, with the remainder made up from Ti and impurities. One or more elements selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Mo, V, Cr, and W may be included instead of some of the Ti. Preferably, 0.01 to 0.05% by mass of platinum group elements are included. Preferably, 0.001 to less than 0.02% by mass of rare earth elements are included.
