PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide amorphous metal by which a molding pressure can be reduced when manufacturing a magnetic material, and a magnetic material of high density can be obtained even if molding it under a comparatively low pressure condition, and the magnetic material obtained using the amorphous metal.
SOLUTION : In the amorphous metal containing rare earth metal elements, iron, cobalt, and boron, the atom ratio of boron to the total amount thereof is set as 6 - 28 atom %, and the atom ratio of the rare earth metal elements, iron, and cobalt is set within a range surrounded by a straight line connecting points shown by A, B, C, and D in a triangle figure shown in the figure 1. Magnet powder that is neodymium-iron-boron based magnetic powder is mixed with the amorphous metal, and the mixture is heated to a temperature not less than a temperature lower by 10°C than the liquid phase line temperature of the amorphous metal, and the magnetic material is thereby obtained.
