PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for hydroponic cultivation capable of growing a foliage plant indoors. SOLUTION : There is provided a method for hydroponic cultivation in which : a seedling of a foliage plant 2 which is bought is taken out of a culture pot; soil on a root 5 is removed; the remaining soil on the root 5 is completely washed away with water 4; the seedling of the foliage plant 2 is planted at a central part in an inner bottom part 6 of a container 1 having no hole at the bottom of the container, which is any one of bonsai pots and glass bottles or earthenware pots of various shapes; and multifunctional ore 3 other than soil is used as a planting material surrounding the root 5.
