PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve the hydrogen release action of a hydrogen storage alloy since, in the case when the conventional ABtype rare earth-based alloy represented by LaNior MmNiof a CaCutype crystal structure is used as the electrode of a nickel-hydrogen storage battery, discharge capacity when a discharge current is increased is easy to be reduced, and to improve rate properties of a secondary battery using the hydrogen storage alloy.SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy has a chemical composition represented by general formula R1TiR2R3(wherein, 00, b>0, c>0, and a+b+c=1).
