PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a transparent crystallized glass having high stability of devitrification resistance and superior wavelength up-conversion characteristics.
SOLUTION : The glass has a composition comprising, on a mol% basis : 10 to 48% of SiO2 and 2 to 40% of B2O3 in a range satisfying (SiO2+B2O3) being 26 to 50%; 25 to 45% of SrF2 and 15 to 35% of Al2O3; 0 to 5% of Er2O3 and 0 to 5% of ErF3 in a range satisfying (Er2O3+ErF3) being 0.01 to 5%; 0 to 10% of Yb2O3 and 0 to 10% of YbF3 in a range satisfying (Yb2O3+YbF3) being 0.01 to 10%; and further 0 to 10% of AlF3. Strontium fluoride microcrystals encapsulating a rare earth ion are crystallized in the glass.
