PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy electrode for alkaline storage battery in which cycle life characteristics of the alkaline storage battery are improved by sufficiently controlling oxidation of the hydrogen storage alloy by an alkali electrolyte in the alkaline storage battery. SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage electrode for alkaline storage battery has a conductive substrate filled with hydrogen storage alloy powder and contains a polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene having an average molecular weight of 800-1, 000.
