PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an oxygen ion conductor having high density and high oxygen ion conductivity and an electrochemical device obtained by using the oxygen ion conductor. SOLUTION : The oxygen ion conductor comprises : an ion conduction part in which at least one of calcium oxide, gadolinium oxide and rare earth metal oxide is contained as a stabilizer and which is based on zirconium oxide; and an electron conduction part based on lanthanum chromite-based perovskite-type oxide. The oxygen ion conductor has the zirconium oxide content higher than the content of the lanthanum chromite-based perovskite-type oxide. COPYRIGHT : (C)2014, JPO&INPIT
