PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing a rare earth magnet having an R2T14B phase (where, R : a rare earth element containing Y, T : a transition metal element) as a main phase by molding from a quenched ribbon produced by a single-roll method, which allows for enhancement of the magnetic characteristics of a magnet obtained, as a result, by relaxing the internal structure difference between the roll face side and the free face side of a quenched ribbon obtained by the single-roll method.
SOLUTION : A relaxation heat treatment step for relaxing the stress of a quenched ribbon at a temperature at least 280°C higher than the heating temperature in a heat treatment step during processing for obtaining a crystal structure in accordance with the molding.
