PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To enhance purities of rare-earth elements to be separated and recovered.SOLUTION : A method for separating the rare-earth elements is provided with the following steps : a first step, in which a polymer having a carboxyl group and an organic substance having an amino group, are added to a solution containing dysprosium and the other kinds of the rare-earth elements to generate an aggregate having higher concentration of the dysprosium than the concentration of the other kind of the rare-earth elements; and a second step, in which a basic material is added to the filter-separated aggregate to generate the precipitation of dysprosium hydroxide and the solution containing the polymer having the carboxyl group and the organic substance having the amino group.
