PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polishing grindstone 1 which has stable polishing performance while minimizing the consumption of an abrasive material made of a rare mineral. SOLUTION : A polishing grindstone is constituted by winding a buff 8 formed by impregnating a belt-like felt 6 having a predetermined thickness with mixed grans 7 obtained by kneading an abrasive material 16 with a binder 17 into a paste state, and heating the disk-like semi-finished grindstone 9. A felt layer 13 made of fiber having pores 15 and a polishing layer 14 in which the polishing material entwines the felt fiber appear alternately to form a rolled board surface, so cushionability as a grindstone is high and the abrasive material can be uniformly mixed. Polishing is carried out while water is supplied so as to efficiently accelerate hydration reaction, thereby smoothly polishing a surface of a workpiece. COPYRIGHT : (C)2014, JPO&INPIT
