Disclosed is a catalyst for preparing a chiral selective and conductive selective single-walled carbon nanotube. The catalyst is an alloy with a ABychemical composition. A indicates a tungsten metal W; B indicates that one or more metals are selected from the following : transition metals manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, chromium, vanadium, rhodium, ruthenium, palladium, platinum, gold, silver, osmium, iridium, and a lanthanide rare earth metal; and y is 0.01-20.0. The catalyst may be used for catalyzing and growing a promising chiral and conductive single-walled carbon nanotube.
