PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for reducing effectively the amount of hexavalent chromium eluted from fired material, when obtaining the fired material used as a proper material for an earthwork material such as a roadbed material, a banking material and a backfill material, or for aggregates for concrete.
SOLUTION : In a method for reducing the elution amount of hexavalent chromium from a fired material, when obtaining a fired material containing 10-100 pts.wt 2CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 and ≤20 pts. wt 3CaO-Al2O3 with respect to 100 pts.wt 2CaO-SiO2 by firing a raw material, the raw material is formulated so that each molar quantity of chlorine (Cl), potassium (K) and sodium (Na) in the raw material before being fired satisfies the following formulas (1) and (2) : molar quantity of Cl/molar quantity of K≥0.8 (1), molar quantity of Cl/(molar quantity of Na+molar quantity of K)≤1.0 (2).
