PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce a magnetic material with excellent magnetic characteristics stably regardless of the ambient environment. SOLUTION : A method for producing a rare earth-iron-nitrogen-based magnetic material includes : a first step of firing a deposition obtained from a solution including constituent element ions of the magnetic material to obtain an oxide; a second step of reducing the oxide in an atmosphere including a reductive gas; a third step of mixing the powder of the oxide obtained in the second step with metal calcium; and a fourth step of subjecting the resulting mixture to reduction-diffusion reaction. The third step includes a step of pressing the mixture at a pressure of 50 kgf/cm2 or more and 500 kgf/cm2 or less. The third step is performed in conditions of an inert atmosphere and a dew-point temperature of -20°C or lower. COPYRIGHT : (C)2014, JPO&INPIT
