The present invention pertains to a fine fibrous cellulose characterized by including a functional group represented by formula (1), the (-COO-) content being 0.06 to 1.2 mmol/g and the degree of polymerization being 50 to 500. (1) (-COO-)n·Xn+ (Herein, n is a natural number 1 to 3. Xn+ is at least one type of cation selected from the group consisting of cations of alkali metal, ammonium ions, aliphatic ammonium ions, and aromatic ammonium ions, when n=1; and is at least one type of cation selected from the group consisting of alkaline-earth metal ions and polyvalent metal ions, when n=2 or 3.) According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a fine fibrous cellulose that is produced at high yield from fibrous raw material, has high drainage, and is highly dispersible when blended into a resin or rubber.
