PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve the activity and corrosion resistance of a hydrogen storage alloy by optimizing the average grain size of a hydrogen storage alloy with a specified structure and the relation between the oxygen concentration and the average grain size of the hydrogen storage alloy. SOLUTION : This hydrogen storage alloy is composed of a component A composed of a rare earth element expressed by Ln and magnesium, and a component B composed of elements at least comprising nickel and aluminum. The alloy phase of the hydrogen storage alloy has an A2B7type structure and/or an A5B19type structure, and the product between the oxygen concentration α (mass%) and the average grain size β (μm) of the hydrogen storage alloy, α×β (mass%×μm) is higher than 25(mass%×μm) and lower than 56(mass%×μm) : (25COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
