PURPOSE : A composition for preventing or treating postmenopausal syndrome is provided to show biological stability and to effectively treat lipid metabolic disorders, hormone metabolic disorders, and hypofunctions of uterus and ovary. CONSTITUTION : A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating postmenopausal syndrome contains a mixture extract as an active ingredient, including 15-35 wt% of Cuscuta japonica, 5-25 wt% of Loranthus parasiticus, 5-25 wt% of Phlomis umbrosa Turcz., 5-25 wt% of agyoju (glue pills), 15-35 wt% of Dioscoreae rhizoma, and 5-25 wt% of Carthami semen. The mixture extract is prepared using one or more solvents selected among water, C1-C4 alcohols, and a mixture thereof.
