PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a supported body of composite particles that includes composite particles comprising Ni in an oxidized state and at least one transition element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Pd, Pt, Ru, Au, Ag and Cu, and a support capable of stably supporting the composite particles, and maintains high reactivity as a catalyst for a long period of time. SOLUTION : The supported body of composite particles includes a support constituted of a composite oxide comprising Si, Al, at least one of the fourth period elements selected from the group consisting of Fe, Co, Ni and Zn, and at least one alkaline element selected from the group consisting of alkali metal elements, alkali earth metal elements, and rare earth elements, each in the ranges of 42 to 90 mol%, 3 to 38 mol%, 0.5 to 20 mol%, and 2 to 38 mol% respectively relative to the aggregate mole amount of the individual components, and composite particles supported by the support and comprising Ni in an oxidized state and at least one transition element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Pd, Pt, Ru, Au, Ag, and Cu.
