PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a supported body of noble metal that can maintain a metallic component comprising aurum in a stably supported state, and can maintain high reactivity for a long period of time even when used as a catalyst. SOLUTION : The supported body of noble metal includes a support constituted of a composite oxide comprising silicon, aluminum, at least one species of the fourth period elements selected from the group consisting of iron, cobalt, nickel and zinc, and at least one species of alkaline elements selected from the group consisting of alkali metal elements, alkali earth metal elements, and rare earth elements, each in the ranges of 42 to 90 mol%, 3 to 38 mol%, 0.5 to 20 mol%, and 2 to 38 mol% respectively relative to the aggregate mole amount of the silicon, the aluminum, the fourth period element and the alkaline element, and a metallic component comprising gold supported by the support.
