PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rotor of a rotary electric machine that can suppress demagnetization of a permanent magnet for a magnetic gap while reducing the consumption of a heavy rare-earth element. SOLUTION : A permanent magnet 31 includes a high holding power portion 33 which has higher holding force at a corner portion than any other portions. In each magnet insertion hole 25, two permanent magnets 31, 31 are arranged abutting against each other. The two permanent magnets 31, 31 arranged in the magnet insertion hole 25 have an abutting surface 35 arranged opposite a magnetic gap formed by a swollen portion 29. COPYRIGHT : (C)2014, JPO&INPIT
