PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen occlusive alloy electrode having a characteristic of high power output far exceeding a conventional range of power output, a manufacturing method for the hydrogen occlusive alloy electrode, and a storage battery. SOLUTION : The hydrogen occlusive alloy electrode 11 has an electrode capacity X (Ah) and a surface area Y (cm2) at the ratio Y/X (cm2/Ah) of the surface area Y (cm2) to the electrode capacity X (Ah) of 70 cm2/Ah or more (Y/X (cm2/Ah)≥70). A hydrogen occlusive alloy serving as a negative electrode active material of the hydrogen occlusive alloy electrode 11 at least contains a rare earth element, nickel, magnesium, and aluminum. A mother crystal phase of the hydrogen occlusive alloy is made up of at least two or more crystal phases. Nickel flakes or nickel short fibers are added to the hydrogen occlusive alloy at a mass percentage of 0.5 or more to the mass of the hydrogen occlusive alloy. COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT
