PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor material improved in water resistance (humidity resistance) and suppressed in the lowering of light-emitting intensity after a lapse of a certain time in a wet and humid environment, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : An yellow phosphor material is characterized in that a layer containing polysiloxane coupling is coated on an atom represented by a composition formula : M12a(M2bLc)M3dOyNx (wherein M1 is at least one selected from alkali metals; M2 is at least one selected from Ca, Sr and Ba; M3 is at least one selected from Si and Ge; L is at least one selected from a rare earths element, Bi and Mn; a is not smaller than 0.9 and not larger than 1.5; b is not smaller than 0.8 and not larger than 1.2; c is not smaller than 0.005 and not larger than 0.2; d is not smaller than 0.8 and not larger than 1.2; x is not smaller than 0.001 and not larger that 1.0; and y is not smaller than 3.0 and not larger than 4.0).
