METHOD FOR RECOVERING RARE-EARTH ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To more simply perform recovering of plural kinds of rare-earth elements from a raw material containing non-rare-earth elements, at lower cost. SOLUTION : In a method for recovering rare-earth elements, specific rare-earth elements are extracted from a raw material solution containing one or more kinds of rare-earth elements and non-rare-earth elements. The method includes : a primary extracting step, in which a primary solution containing one or more rare-earth elements is obtained by using a solvent extracting method from the raw material solution; and a secondary extracting step, in which a secondary solution containing the specific rare-earth elements is contained by using the solvent extracting method from the primary solution. In the primary extracting step, by using the solvent extracting method, a large quantity of chemical for adjusting pH is unnecessary as compared with the case of using a deposition separating method, and thus, the cost related to the recovery of the rare-earth elements can be decreased. Furthermore, the work rate is drastically reduced and the simplification of the steps is also achieved as compared with the deposition separating method, in which it is necessary to repeat, more than once, the work of the adjusting of pH/the recovering of the deposition.
