PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for concentrating a rare earth element thinly dissolved in water or the like. SOLUTION : Biotite is brought into contact with a dilute solution of rare earth elements so that the rare earth elements are concentrated in the biotite. The rare earth element is europium or gadolinium. Biotite including concentrated rare earth elements is obtained by the method. A value of the incorporation quantity of Eu relative to biotite exhibits pH dependency, the incorporation quantity sharply increases when pH is equal to or larger than 3.5, and Eu is incorporated with the highest concentration in the pH range of 4-5.
