PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy superior in corrosion resistance, an electrode and a nickel-hydrogen storage battery using it, and a method for manufacturing the hydrogen storage alloy. SOLUTION : A hydrogen storage alloy with at least two phases containing La, Ni, and Y or a heavy rare earth element, includes a first phase having a composition represented by a general formula : R1aR2bNicCodR3e (wherein R1 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, rare earth elements except for Y and heavy rare earth element, Mg, Ca and Zr; R2 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Y and heavy rare earth elements; R3 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mn, Al, Zn, Fe, Cu and Si; a, b, c, d and e are numerical numbers satisfying relations : 0
