Recovery of multiple types of rare-earth elements from a raw material containing non-rare-earth elements is performed simply and at a lower cost. A rare-earth element recovery method for extracting specified rare-earth elements from a raw-material solution containing at least one type of rare-earth element and a non-rare-earth element, including a first extraction step for obtaining a first solution containing at least one rare-earth element from a raw-material solution using a solvent extraction method, and a second extraction step for obtaining a second solution including specified rare-earth elements from the first solution using a solvent extraction method. By using a solvent extraction method in the first extraction step, compared with using a precipitation-separation method, large amounts of pH-adjustment chemicals are not required, and cost can be reduced for the recovery of the rare-earth elements. Also, compared with the precipitation method, which requires multiple repetitions of an operation, namely pH adjustment/precipitation recovery, the amount of operations is greatly reduced, and the steps are simplified.
