PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a fuel cell in which gas sealability of a solid electrolyte layer and a barrier layer can be enhanced.SOLUTION : The solid oxide fuel cell includes a fuel electrode, an air electrode, a solid electrolyte layer interposed between the fuel electrode and air electrode, and containing a Zr-based oxide material and Fe, and a barrier layer interposed between the solid electrolyte layer and air electrode, and containing a Ce-based oxide material containing a rare earth element and Fe. The average content of Fe in the barrier layer is higher than that in the solid electrolyte layer.
