PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a ceramic scintillator material which maintains excellent light output, has a strength capable of dealing with the downsizing of a detector and so on, and improves uneven sensitivity causing artifacts and so on. SOLUTION : This ceramic scintillator material comprises the sintered product of a rare earth element oxysulfide fluorescent substance containing Pr as an activating agent. The sintered product has a tissue in which coarse amorphous polygonal crystal particles and long and narrow amorphous polygonal fine crystal particles coexist. The coarse crystal particles have shapes having a size (average value) in the range of 50 to 100 μm, and the fine crystal particles have an average minor axis in the range of 2 to 5 μm and an average major axis of 5 to 500 μm. The ratio of the area of the coarse crystal particles to the area of the fine crystal particles is in the range of 10 : 90 to 60 : 40.
