PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide DPE reduced in the lowering of pressure loss, capable of stably reducing the combustion temperature of PM and capable of being manufactured by a simple method. SOLUTION : In the DPF, a perovskite type composite oxide, which is represented, for example, by the compositional formula AMO3(wherein an A-site is at least one kind of a rare earth element (Y is handled as a rare earth element) or at least one kind of an alkaline earth metal element and an M-site is at least one kind of a transition metal element), is supported on the porous wall of a porous body for collecting PM. In the cross section parallel to the exhaust gas passing direction of the porous body, the present amount of the perovskite type composite oxide is gradually reduced in the order of the vicinity of the surface on an exhaust gas entering side, the thickness central part and the vicinity of the surface on an exhaust gas discharge side.
