PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnetic member and a manufacturing method therefor that are excellent in magnetic characteristics and productivity. SOLUTION : A soft magnetic metal powder 20 and a multiphase powder 30 consisting of a multiphase particle including a phase of a hydrogen compound of a rare-earth element and a phase of an Fe inclusion are supplied to a molding die 100A to form a powder compact 10A by simultaneously pressing and compressing both powders 10 and 20. A heat treatment is conducted on the powder compact 10A to separate hydrogen from the multiphase particle, thereby generating a recombination alloy in which the rare-earth element and the Fe inclusion are combined. In this process, a magnetic member 1A including a soft magnetic region 2A and a magnet region 3A consisting of the recombination alloy (an alloy including a rare-earth element and Fe) is formed. Both powders 10 and 20 are simultaneously molded to cause a less number of processes and excellent productivity. The magnetic member 1A does not have a minute gap that can be produced when separate members of a soft magnetic member and a magnet are employed, and the magnetic member 1A suppresses deterioration in magnetic characteristics caused by the gap and is excellent in the magnetic characteristics.
