PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To reduce a construction cost of earth-retaining timbering and improve workability of construction in a region surrounded by earth retaining walls. SOLUTION : A permanent cast-in-place concrete pile 22 is driven on the periphery of an excavation region 2 surrounded by earth retaining walls 1, part of a steel-framed column 24 is buried in the cast-in-place concrete pile 22 and the steel-framed column 24 and a wale 12 of the earth retaining walls 1 are coupled with a strut 26 to construct an earth-retaining timbering 10.
