PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth permanent magnet offering excellent magnetic performance, and a method for manufacturing a rare-earth permanent magnet by improving grindability in wet grinding.
SOLUTION : A coarsely ground magnet powder, and an organometallic compound represented by the formula : M-(OR)x, where M includes at least one of Nd, Al, Cu, Ag, Dy, Tb, V, Mo, Zr, Ta, Ti, W, and Nb, R represents a substituent composed of a hydrocarbon with a carbon chain length of 2 to 16 and may be a straight chain or a branched chain, and x represents an arbitrary integer, undergo wet grinding in an organic solvent so that a magnet powder is obtained by the grinding of the magnet materials, and the organometallic compound adheres to the surfaces of the particles of the magnet powder. A permanent magnet 1 is manufactured by molding and sintering the magnet powder with the organometallic compound.
