PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a novel double perovskite-type inorganic fluorescent material capable of emitting high-brightness red or orange light.SOLUTION : The inorganic fluorescent material is obtained by doping a base material of the double perovskite type structure with a rare earth element. The composition of the base material is BaR(III)M(V)O(wherein R(III) : Y or Ln except Eu, M(V) : Nb, Ta or Sb). Eu(III) is used as the doping metal. A photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of the inorganic fluorescent material in the case of an excitation wavelength (ordinary temperature) of 250 nm has a peak area with a central wavelength of 580-600 nm.
