PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a Eu3+ activation rare earth phosphovanadate fluorescent substance that strikes a balance between high luminance and short afterglow properties, is stable, and hardly cause luminance saturation.
SOLUTION : A display device uses the rare earth phosphovanadate fluorescent substance activated by Eu3+, wherein in the rare earth phosphovanadate fluorescent substance, in a red light component which the fluorescent substance emits when being excited by a wavelength 146 nm vacuum ultraviolet ray, when the peak height of a sub light-emitting component near 614 nm to the peak height of a main light-emitting component near 619 nm is a first sub light-emitting component proportion, and the peak height of a sub light-emitting component near 697 nm to the peak height of the main light-emitting component is a second light-emitting component proportion, the ratio of the first sub light-emitting component proportion to the second sub light-emitting component proportion is at least 35.0% and less than 41.5%.
