PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve critical current characteristics while suppressing an increase in kinds of raw materials.
SOLUTION : An oxide superconducting thin film includes : a base material; a superconducting layer formed on the base material and containing a plurality of RE-based superconductor units configured by including rare earth elements, CuO chains, and CuO2 planes; the CuO chain that exists in the RE-based superconductor units around an interface between the superconducting layer and a layer adjacent to a side of the base material of the superconducting layer, among the CuO chains, and has a length longer in the lamination direction than the length of the CuO chains, which are determined by lattice constants of the RE-based superconductor units, by 1.2 times or more and twice or less; and an edge dislocation that exists adjacent to the long CuO chain in the lamination direction.
